The race is part of a global effort by JROTC to break the Guinness World Record for the “most participants in a 5K run at multiple locations” to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. JROTC race organizers aim to have more than 350,000 entrants simultaneously participating across the world in the global event.
