For the love of volunteering: A gift both given and received.

It’s always said that it’s better to give than to receive, and what better gift during the holiday season than your time? Many organizations are in need of volunteers this time of year to create a bit of winter  magic, whether that be offering a meal to a family in need or providing your community with a resource they can use all year long.

Volunteering your time in Chittenden County, Vermont, this winter is a rewarding way to give back to your community. Here are more organizations looking for generous people like you:

Environmental Organizations: Some environmental organizations may have winter projects like tree planting, habitat restoration, or trail maintenance that require volunteer assistance.

Senior Centers: Senior centers often need volunteers to help with activities, transportation, and companionship for older adults, which can be especially vital during the colder months.

Community Centers: Check with your local community centers, as they often    have winter programs and events that require volunteers to assist with organizing and running various activities.

Local Schools: Schools may need volunteers to assist with after-school programs, tutoring, or other activities that support students during the winter season.

Meals on Wheels: You can volunteer with programs like Meals on Wheels to deliver hot meals to homebound seniors and individuals who may have difficulty leaving their homes during the winter.   More Information at 802-862-6253
