In this two-part program, artist and scholar Sarah Stefana Smith gives a brief presentation on her photo and textile-based exhibition, "Willful Matters." Smith shares some of the critical ideas and writings that inform this work as she begins a larger conversation with guest community members. These dialogues will explore the relationship between materials and matter as well as transparency and opacity in understanding Black life and identity.
