Love the Way You Look! With a little help from these nearby med-spas

MED-SPAS VS. DAY SPAS

What’s the difference between a med-spa and a day spa? While day spas focus mostly on massages, facials, and in some cases, advanced skin treatments like peels, med-spas also offer everything day spas offer, plus a host of nonsurgical procedures for the face and body.

Med-spas also employ a staff of technicians, licensed to perform procedures, like administering Botox and dermal fillers, and providing treatments for aging skin, hair removal, and weight loss support.

The popularity of med-spas has skyrocketed in recent years, and in the area of Burlington, three are particular standouts.

Bare Medical Spa and Laser Center

Rated the No. 1 medical spa in Vermont four years in a row, Bare Medical Spa is run by its founder and CEO, Jamie Spano. She credits the success of the business, which has been operating for thirteen years, to their dedication to keeping up with trends and people in the industry and providing their clients with the latest technological advances. ““The medical aesthetics industry is constantly evolving,” Jamie notes. “Innovation moves at a remarkable pace—often faster than most people realize.”

Among the most advanced technologies now in use is the Fotona SP Dynamis platform, which integrates dual-wavelength laser technology to perform an array of aesthetic and therapeutic procedures. It supports everything from hair restoration and skin resurfacing to non-invasive tightening and even functional treatments, such as snoring reduction and needle-free lip enhancement. “The versatility and efficacy are remarkable,” Jamie notes. In October 2025, Bare launched IgniteRF®, an innovative new platform that delivers advanced skin-tightening and fatreduction treatments for the face and body through BodyTite and FaceTite technology. The procedure tightens and tones tissues, contours the body, and enhances overall skin quality. “Think liposuction without surgery,” Jamie says, describing it as bridging the gap between traditional aesthetic treatments and plastic surgery.

“Clients are seeking faster, more effective results with minimal downtime—and that’s exactly where technology is leading us,” Jamie says. “It’s an incredible evolution to witness.”

The newest addition at Bare is pure BLISS—literally. BLISS is Bare’s new weekend-only day spa, offering a rejuvenating menu of services, including IV therapy, massage, brow and lash enhancements, facials, dermal fillers, waxing, teeth whitening, and more.

At Bare Medical Spa + Laser Center, clients can refine their physique with CoolSculpting® Elite, a treatment that uses advanced cryo technology to freeze and eliminate fat safely—without surgery or downtime.

Radiance Medical Aesthetics and Wellness Spa

Radiance Medical Aesthetics and Wellness is one of the most renowned med-spas in the state. Dr. Colleen Parker is the lead physician, business owner, and medical director. When she started Radiance, her vision was to create an environment where patients felt comfortable and received the highest quality care for medical aesthetics procedures.

Kendall Beiswanger, the office manager and director of marketing and business, says Radiance’s team of professionals provides a full array of noninvasive medical and cosmetic services, including Botox/Dysport filler, laser treatments, facial rejuvenation, and laser hair removal.

But what sets Radiance apart is its commitment to the most natural treatments possible, so that people still look and feel like themselves. Because of that approach, the staff at Radiance puts a lot of emphasis on education.

Dr. Collen Parker at Radiance Medical Aesthetics and Wellness Spa ensures that every patient has a thorough and personalized consultation, which involves and in-depth discussion of the science of aging and education on skin treatments.

“That way, patients know why this treatment works, and why it’s going to help with their skin goals,” Kendall explains. “I think that’s where we come in, in terms of helping people decide, so it doesn’t feel intimidating or overwhelming. We work on their skin journey together throughout the process.”

That education extends outside the walls of the spa too. Dr. Parker hosts a segment onthe radio (on Star 92.9) called “In the Know,” where community members call in to ask questions about trends in beauty and aesthetics.

Dr. Parker started in anesthesiology, but she has a background in art, which, she says, gives her an edge. She can combine her artistic eye with her fifteen years of experience as a board-certified physician. She says the operating room didn’t give her enough opportunity to interact with patients. Now that she’s opened Radiance, she has a chance to be there with her patients as their health and happiness improve.

“Patients appreciate that a physician is providing their care, and they can be confident that what is recommended is always based on safety and effectiveness to help them look and feel their best in a natural way,” Dr. Parker says.

As for keeping up with the latest aesthetics trends, Kendall says the pros at Radiance don’t rush to try new products or procedures before extensive testing. “We’re always looking ahead at the innovations out there, but we don’t necessarily bring something in just because it’s trending. We always do our research and make sure it’s well established for use in this space.”

Pêche Medical Spa

Nestled in the heart of Burlington’s historic Maple Street district, Pêche Medical + Wellness is more than a medical aesthetics destination—it’s a philosophy, a movement, and a promise to redefine what it means to age beautifully and naturally.

Founded in 2023 by seasoned medical professionals Sarah Dietschi, NP-C, and Kellie Malaney, PA-C, Pêche was born from a shared vision: to create a space where confidence and authenticity come first. With over forty years of combined experience in women’s health, primary care, and plastic surgery, Sarah and Kellie bring unparalleled expertise to every treatment, ensuring that safety, balance, and artistry guide every decision.

With forty-plus years of experience, Sarah (left) and Kellie bring their expertise in women's health, plastic surgery, and aesthetics to Pêche.

“It is our goal to reverse the stigma that cosmetic procedures often look unnatural and overdone,” Kellie says. “We pride ourselves on years of extensive training, skill, and an artistic approach to facial correction and balance.”

What sets Pêche apart is its commitment to light-handed, natural results—enhancements that celebrate a client’s individuality, rather than mask it. Here, beauty is about subtle, thoughtful refinements that leave clients looking refreshed and radiant.

At Pêche, you won’t find one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, Pêche offers a full spectrum of services designed to meet clients where they are in their aesthetic journey. Whether it’s injectables, laser hair removal, facial services, or the latest in skin rejuvenation techniques, every treatment is curated to deliver results that are subtle yet effective.

The experience at Pêche goes beyond just procedures. Housed in the Karma Bird House, a charming historic building on Maple Street, the med-spa feels worlds away from sterile clinics or flashy cosmetic chains. Clients are welcomed into a warm, relaxing environment where trust and comfort are top priorities.

“We wanted to create a space that reflects our values—intimate, personalized, and deeply rooted in care,” Sarah says. “We’re not just treating faces. We’re treating people.”

At Pêche, every detail matters—from the welcoming atmosphere to the personalized care you receive. Their approach is grounded in medical integrity and fueled by a passion for helping clients feel confident in their own skin, because aging beautifully is about embracing each client’s journey with grace and confidence.
